The Konti Group: 20 years on the market

27.02.2012

The financial and construction holding company KONTI was established on February 26, 1992, exactly 20 years ago. At the time of establishment, the main activities of the company were: renovation, reconstruction and construction of housing, as well as real estate operations.

Over the years, the company designed and built some iconic and unique projects in the market: Pokrovskoye-Glebovo (deluxe residential complex in the North-West Administrative District, in the style of a Russian country estate), Edelweiss (high-rise apartment complex in Kutuzov Avenue, the first high-rise under the 'New Moscow Ring' program), Continental (multi-functional high-rise residential complex, located next to Serebryaniy Bor), and Ilyinka (the first Russian residential community in a new kind of suburban real estate – lanehouses, located 11 km from the Moscow Beltway along the Ilyinskoye highway).

In addition to these projects, residential houses were built in Fili-Davydkovo under the 'Dilapidated Housing Reconstruction Program', as well as houses in Tula, Kaluga, Tambov, and Kursk under the 'Housing Construction Program in the Central Federal District', residential and commercial buildings in Kaliningrad. The production of ceramic bricks and ceramic blocks was set up at the company's plants 'Keramika' and 'Novokeramik' in Tula.

In 2008, due to the adjustment of the holding company's development strategy and business diversification, the Konti Group acquired a number of assets related to solar energy. In particular, the company purchased a plant for the production of polysilicon in Zheleznogorsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory). The plant is currently undergoing modernization.

The nearest real estate prospects of the company include the development of a new project in prestigious Moscow suburbs. Following the latest market trends, this will be a low-rise residential complex with a total floor area of over 100,000 sq.m.

"We have passed the 'age of majority requirement' and now (as compared with human life) KONTI is in transition from youth to adulthood. We overcame several macroeconomic financial crises and found the resources to pass through them to the benefit of our company. Ahead of us, there are new prospects, new challenges, new victories and we are happy to go through it again and again," – the founder and President of the Konti Group Timur Timerbulatov shared his impressions on this memorable day for the company.
